Grasmere & Bowness on Windermere, 24/07/2025
Join us for a grand day out where the scenery is stunning, the gingerbread is legendary, and the lake is so big even the ducks need a map!
First stop, Grasmere, a village so charming even William Wordsworth couldn’t stop raving about it. Wander past picture-perfect cottages, pop into delightful little shops, and pay a visit to St. Oswald’s Church, where Wordsworth himself is laid to rest - no doubt still dreaming about daffodils. But let’s be honest, the real highlight here is the famous Grasmere Gingerbread. One bite of this crumbly, spicy delight, and you’ll be doing some very deep thinking - mainly about how much you can carry home!
Next, we roll on to Bowness-on-Windermere, where the lake shimmers, the shops tempt, and the cafés serve up tea strong enough to power a steamboat. Take a scenic stroll along the waterfront, grab a souvenir (or three), or just sit back and watch the boats bobbing along. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not hop aboard a lake cruise? It’s the perfect way to see the sights.
