Start 2026 off the right way with a woodland walk in Harrogate to blow the cobwebs away. 
Your walk today begins in the Grade II listed Valley Gardens created for Victorian tourists to enjoy the spa waters. The path then leads you into the adjoining Pinewoods, a peaceful woodland that offers a lovely, natural contrast to the formal gardens. Here, you can look for woodland birds like nuthatches and woodpeckers among the tall Scots Pines. Continue around the fields and meander alongside the Oak Beck through Cardale Woodland before returning to the trailhead. 
 
We always recommend that you wear suitably sturdy footwear and clothing for inclement weather when you join us for a ramble and this is no exception! Many previous ramblers describe this route as non-strenuous and perfect for beginners or those wishing to enjoy a leisurely walk.
