Shibden Hall & Piece Hall 05.10.2024

Back by popular demand, today is all about Shibden Hall and Piece Hall.

Our day begins with Shibden Hall where you are free to meander the estate and the beautifully restored gardens. The Hall is of particular interest for those who may have seen the BBC drama ‘Gentleman Jack’ which follows the life of Anne Lister and all who lived at the Estate.

(Please note that the some of the areas of the estate are not suitable for wheelchair users)

As the day progresses, we’ll head over to the very unique (and some would say cultural phenomenon) that is Piece Hall. What’s special about this venue we hear you ask? Not only is it the sole survivor of the great eighteenth century northern cloth halls in the world, but its architecturally stunning in every sense. You’ll learn all about the hall’s heritage and importance with your tour guide before being able to explore the hall in all it’s glory for your self.
