Snowdonia Railway & Porthmadog, 26/07/2025
Full steam ahead for a fantastic day out! Climb aboard for a whistle-stop tour of Wales’s finest sights - with a dash of shopping, a sprinkle of seaside fun, and a one-way steam train journey that’ll have you chugging through the stunning Snowdonia landscape faster than you can say “Toot toot!”.
Our first stop is Betws-y-Coed with a visit to Village Crafts, a delightful little gem packed with handmade gifts, unique trinkets, and souvenirs you never knew you needed! Whether you fancy a bit of browsing or just a sneaky coffee break, this charming stop is the perfect warm-up for the adventures ahead.
Then we are ‘on track’ for more fun (literally!) as we are booked onto the Ffestiniog Railway to Porthmadog! Hold onto your hats (and cameras!), because this scenic one-way trip on the historic train is no ordinary train ride - it’s a journey through rolling hills, rugged landscapes, and jaw-dropping views that will have you feeling like you’ve stepped straight into a beautiful oil painting. The only downside? You might not want to get off!
But not to worry we have arrived in the wonderful Porthmadog for the perfect afternoon full of wonderful things to do. it’s time to stretch those legs and explore!
Take a stroll along the scenic harbour and soak up the sea air while watching the boats bobbing on the water or step back in time at the fascinating Maritime Museum.
Treat yourself to a delicious meal, a sweet Welsh cake, or an ice cream (or all three - we won’t judge!) and shop like a pro at the town’s charming independent stores - perfect for gifts, souvenirs, or just something nice for yourself! Or, if you prefer, simply find a sunny spot, plop yourself down and relax to watch the world go by - you’re on a day trip after all!
As the day sadly comes to a close we still have one more treat in store as we hop back on the coach for a stunning drive along the coastal route, where you can sit back, enjoy the views, and maybe even sneak in a cheeky nap before we arrive home.
Seats are limited, so don’t miss your chance to ride the rails, explore the coast, and make some magical memories!
