The Aberdeen Altens Hotel is a perfect base from which to explore the majestic Scottish Highlands. This award winning 4 star hotel offers spacious, comfortable rooms, an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, and a fresh, open-plan restaurant serving both modern and classic dishes as well as a hearty Scottish breakfast to set you up for day.
Our trip starts with a wee stop in romantic Gretna Green, scene of many an elopement, before settling in to our hotel.
On Tuesday we will whisk you off to the turreted Crathes Castle followed by a visit to the Victorian town of Ballater in Royal Deeside, an area once described by Queen Victoria herself as “my dear paradise in the Highlands”.
Wednesday is for discovering the delights of the granite city of Aberdeen with it’s elegant architecture, proud history and even a beach!
Thursday takes us to the pretty harbour town of Stonehaven to blow off the cobwebs whilst watching the yachts bobbing in the water.
As we head for home on Friday there will still be time to stop in both Stirling and Moffatt to treat yourself to some wee Scottish souvenirs to remind you of your holiday.
