Our Rail & Sail Norfolk Broads holiday is the perfect break away filled with adventure and         exploration of this iconic area.

Day One

Our tour begins with a leisurely Sunday drive down to Norwich with a comfort break planned for the picturesque town of Newark on Trent. The area is famed for being the place where King Charles I surrendered during the English Civil War; owned by the famous Lady Godiva and where King John died in 1216 - a town clearly steeped in history! As the afternoon progresses, we plan to arrive at the Holiday Inn for mid-late afternoon with plenty of time to unpack before enjoying your 3 course evening meal.

Your hotel stay comes with home comforts such as a flatscreen TV, WI-FI, coffee/tea making facilities and complimentary bottled water - not to mention access to the health club complete with a pool and gym (should the mood take you!).

Day Two

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before we set off to enjoy a visit to Sandringham House & Gardens the much-loved country retreat of the Royal Family.

Our visit today includes access to Sandringham House and 60 acres of gardens. Admire the     collection of artefacts and precious stones before learning about the various stories surrounding the House - including the one about Caesar the Fox Terrier! Be sure to find the ‘jigsaw table’ and cinema projection point!

Day ThreeALL ABOARD! Today we head to the town of Holt to catch the heritage steam train to            Sheringham on the famous Poppy Line.

Delight in the beautiful coastal scenery for just over 5 miles whist savouring the smells and sounds of a traditional railway service. As we arrive in the old fishing seaside town of Sheringham, the rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. With an award winning beach, heritage museums and artistic murals along the promenade, today promises to be the perfect day out!

Day Four

It really wouldn’t be a trip to the Norfolk Broads without experiencing a traditional river boat trip Our boat is a luxury river cruiser which runs regular trips from the beautiful village of Horning, along the River Bure through the village and out to Ranworth Broad and back, passing lovely old thatched houses, windmills and Norfolk reed beds. During the trip there is excellent commentary and continual pointing out of all the wildlife around at the time. Did you know that the Norfolk Borads is home to over a quarter of the UK’s rare wildlife?!

As we disembark, there will be plenty of time to explore Horning - described as one of the     prettiest and most popular villages in the area owing to its waterside location. With plenty of   eateries, an art gallery and scenic walks, enjoy a relaxed afternoon taking in the sights before we begin our journey home tomorrow.

Day FiveIt may be the final day of our holiday but we have one final stop to make before we arrive back home. Our comfort break en route home will be to the riverside market town of Spalding,         Lincolnshire. Enjoy a bite to eat and stretch of your legs whilst admiring the rich history of the town including the many museums and the Chain Bridge Forge workshop.
