This trail offers a mix of natural and historic sights as you wind your way from Ripon, across the farmlands and parklands to Fountains Abbey, and return to the start beside the River Skell and past Ripon Cathedral.
The trail is along a combination of well-surfaced paths, paved roads, and rougher sections which are muddy in wetter conditions, so appropriate footwear is advised.
The trail is popular for birding and walking enthusiasts (so remember to bring your binoculars and camera).
There are some gradual climbs or obstacles likes rocks or roots but no considerable steep climbs.
Please be aware that Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Gardens charge a fee to enter. For more information, please visit the National Trust website.
