This lovely circular trail takes in some of the highlights of the historic seaside town of Scarborough. Starting by taking you through St Nicholas Garden, the route then follows the seafront past the two piers and around the base of the hill upon which stands Scarborough Castle. The castle dates from the early 12th century with a number of modifications and extensions throughout the following centuries. The castle is now run by English Heritage and is open to visits from the public (ticket fees apply). After circling the castle, the trail takes you through the Royal Albert Park, then into Peasholm Park. Peasholm sits on the site of a medieval manor house and now offers a number of trails with some beautiful and interesting old trees, as well as a Japanese Garden. From Peasholm, the trail takes you back through town to the trailhead.
