Pickering 04/07/2026
Our second option on this fine Saturday in July is Pickering! Historically known for its traditional (and unique) town vibe, there is always a bustling atmosphere! If you are seeking out a great town centre with plenty of amenities, then you have come to the right place!
There are plenty of independent cafés and shops to have a gander in. The Beck Isle Museum is newly re-open and refurbished (admission not included). Here, you can learn of Pickering’s rich history and find many of the exhibits sharing the town’s fascinating stories and origins.
If medieval buildings are your cup of tea, then Pickering Castle sits not too far from the town centre. Pickering Castle was built during the 13th century from stone and the ruins still remain today. There are three imposing towers to explore within the castle grounds and as you reach the summit, you are rewarded with exceptional panoramic views, what you can only wish you could take home with you!
