January Sale 2026: Day Trips
Shrewsbury and Ludlow are a match made in heaven; they compliment each other perfectly for a cosy day out.
Our first stop is Shrewsbury, voted the Happiest place in the Midlands in 2025 so you are sure of a welcoming smile everywhere you go.
The birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury is one of England’s finest medieval market towns. The historic centre, with its half-timbered houses, is a shopper’s heaven packed with designer stores, smart shopping malls and an amazing range of independent retailers alongside all the cafes, restaurants and tearooms your heart could desire.
Ludlow is a charming architectural gem with character oozing from every corner. The stunning 13th century Ludlow Castle (admission not included) is an impressive reminder of this town’s importance in medieval times along with St Laurence’s Church and the Ludlow Museum.
If you are in search of refreshments you will not be disappointed. There is an abundance of eateries and tearooms, everything from fine dining to a cheeky slice of cake.
