For a day full of discovery and nostalgia, look no further than the treasure-trove that is the York Castle Museum.

This fascinating collection lovingly tells the story of the people of York whose lives are intertwined with this historic gem of a city.

Step into re-created rooms showing how we used to live through the ages from a simple farm labourer’s cottage to the ultra-modern way we live today. Enjoy walking down the Georgian and Victorian Streets with daintily decorated shop windows displaying the wares of the times.

Discover the old kitchens showing how hard it was to work ‘below-stairs’ in the local grand houses and even walk in the footsteps of former prisoners in the old jail cells.

York Castle Museum is a box of delights – just waiting for you to step inside.
